Half Term Update

We have arrived at the end of a very busy half term. Our young people have produced some fantastic work, explored new opportunities and continued to build positive relationships throughout our Personal Development framework.

We have enjoyed:

· a visit from the Mayor

· a cross curricular theme of creativity explored through our curriculum

· the launch of our Land Based Management and Animal Care courses

· the appointment of some new staff members to join our ever growing team

· an inspiring Black History celebration

· new Enrichment opportunities including golf and swimming

· seeing our youngsters looking smart in their new Orchard Centre uniform.

However most of all, we have enjoyed working with all of our young people both familiar and new.

Our Year 11 group are busy working towards their range of qualifications and making good progress. Plans are underway to support mock examinations and additional curriculum workshops.

Our attendance figure of 84% for this half term shows how much our young people are enjoying being at the Centre. We know we can get even higher than that!

Next half term, we look forward to welcoming you into Centre to support your child’s progress. You will have the opportunity to discuss the curriculum, hear from our Reading Teachers and our Pastoral team.

A reminder that there is a safeguarding adaptation to our policy on the use of mobile phones. From the start of next half term, the use of mobile phones in and around the Centre is prohibited. This is to ensure that all young people can be safeguarded appropriately.

We hope all of our young people and their families have a restful break.

I remain as proud as ever to lead this amazing community of young people, staff and families.

We look forward to seeing you all on Monday October 31st.
