Another term has come to an end and all of our young people have achieved so well over the last three months. Our most prominent mission is to enable young people to overcome obstacles and challenges and we have seen some fantastic acts of resilience over the course of the term.
As we head into the Christmas break, it is important to thank you, our families, who have continued to support us and your children in trying to achieve the best outcomes possible for everyone at the Orchard Centre. We want to continue to support you over the Christmas break, remember if you do need any support in challenging you can access our Orchard Support Fund via the website. We are here to support you.
All of our Christmas visits have now come to an end and all of youngsters have enjoyed a range of activities from Ice Skating to visiting the Desert Shop. Our recent ‘Parents Evening’ was brilliantly attended and we very much enjoyed welcoming you all back into Centre again after the Covid hiatus. If you were unable to attend, you should now have received your child’s report via the post.
We have some changes to our staffing for the Spring Term and it is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to Mr Powers, our Acting Deputy Head. He is moving onto a new School in Dudley and we will all miss him greatly.
Mr Heathcote has been successful in gaining a post on the Centre’s Leadership Team for next Term and will take over Mr Powers’ role as lead for Behaviour and Attitudes. We also welcome Miss Smith as our new Pastoral Care lead who joins us in January. Miss Fisher has also already joined our English Department.
All that remains is to wish you a fantastic Christmas break, in light of recent events in Solihull, a safe holiday and we look forward to seeing you all here again at the start of the Spring Term.
Warm Wishes
Andy Higgs
