At The Orchard Centre we believe that students must be able to recognise and adapt to a society which is served by an ever increasing use of Computing and IT.
The aim of the course is for students:
- To develop a set of coherent Computing and IT skills so that they may, in time, be able to use Computing and IT effectively, creatively and autonomously.
- To be able to take advantage of Computing and IT opportunities to promote learning and life skills inside and outside the classroom.
- To develop an awareness of their personal responsibilities when using Computing and IT to access wider resources and when communicating with others.
- To be able to access a range of relevant qualifications from Entry Level, Level 1 up to Level 2 and GCSE.
Year 7 and 8
The lessons are based on the National Guidelines for Computing but are also designed to ensure that the pupils build a range of IT skills. This will support their learning in all curriculum areas.
